American Body Building (ABB) was started as a performance drink company which prides itself on having the best products available for those who care about bodybuilding and fitness. Every product that is produced is designed to fulfill a specific purpose. In the past few years, ABB has expanded to protein bars and supplements, but our main concepts will always be focused on our performance drinks.

American Body Building was the first company to put out a performance carbohydrate drink, which was and still is called 'Carbo Force', although it has been modified to perfection over the years. Over the years, we consider ourselves the leader in performance drinks; with many technical advancements.

ABB was the first to develop the power activator drink (Blue Thunder), the first to develop the post workout drink (Critical Mass), the first to develop a cross flow microfiltration drink (High Voltage), and currently, the first to develop an all protein, no carb drink (Pure Pro). We also stated clearly that we only have the finest and highest quality protein in our drinks, unlike other companies, and wish to inform the public by asking them to 'Read the Labels!'

American Body Building was purchased by Weider Nutrition Foods (Joe Weider's company) in January, 1995, from Jim Horn the original owner of the company and the creator of all of the ABB products. Weider's main offices are in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the 60,000 square foot manufacturing and bottling facility is located in Walterboro, South Carolina. This modern state of the art plant, on-line since November 1, 1995, is three times the size of the former location and has the ability to run eight times the number of bottles on a given day as before. In contrast to other drink companies, American Body Building manufactures and bottles their performance drinks, which means that you can be assured that the quality is the highest available. With Weider's backing, ABB will continue to be the dominant force in performance drinks.
